One : 18
6:00 -
six o'clock;
or one-less-than-seven
one-less-than-perfect
person waking at this
ungodly hour
8:00 -
eight o'clock;
still half asleep, shuffling
our feet into class
waiting for data to come
like a loud shock
B:OO.
1:00 -
one o'clock;
one old clock chimes one;
from high up he comes
from higher he comes
and in higher econs
the watches read
Thirteen
3:33 -
Three-thirty-three;
or just three three three
half of six six six
half the class is very tired
half the class is irritated
if you put them together
well i guess that's just
absolutely Beastly
6:45 -
six-forty-five;
or eighteen-forty-five;
18:45 in the evening
looks like IB:45
and after evening comes
Darkness
12:00 -
twelve-mid-night;
or 24:00, reminding;
me to keep working beyond 24
so though no data is retained
neither am I
1:18 -
one-eighteen (in the morning);
and the clock says 1:IB
student still awake
like a one-eyed-bee that
doesn't want IB
but just wants
to Sleep
(emo warning)
In Between
Between you and me
I know many things passed
that though it was a little more than a year
it blossomed like the morning glory
but then again it's already
Evening
Between you and them
a million words formed a stormy sea
orders, requests and "can you do this for me"
and perhaps the occasional joke fell
but if the sea sometimes parched and dried
you always had this river flowing to
Fill Your Cup
Between my devils and me
you might have heard a faint Croak
through that maelstrom, that inferno
yet hell and high water did never get through
your undying bullet-proof
Shield
Between right, left and centre
of the stage, no less,
you forged us together with your dream
that will last a Millenium of Rolexes
cause you knew that you blew us all away
so I guess the first line of your Insurance Policy
says "Stand Aside, Jerry"
Between my house and changi
was a wall as high as my grandfather's son
and a gulf as wide as two letters
somewhere from LM to PQ
so I went to school and remembered
My Absence
Between "if you ask me" and what I know
Success will come and go but never stay
unless you hold to what is dear
before it prances far into
murky woods
so maybe I'm here in a sea of calm
where the lightning striking every 4 years
is a strange red hue; and without fail too,
while you're there walking amidst the angels
picking holly off every tree in the woods;
but maybe far away in the pacific
your plane dropped a little piece of luggage
cause' I know I lost a piece of my Heart
Somewhere In Between
Stain
Perhaps you lost count of the times
between these arrows and those dotted lines
between these fleeting zebra-ed parapets
this endless blur of white and black
Half a chance, half a time, half a strife;
verytightpacked into less than a ten-
th of a second, through which a half-life
popped, rolled, spun and collapsed unable to mend
the spirit more than willing, the flesh less than weak,
still you lay there staring deep into space;
though I still know not what you did seek
I know you emptied out that painful place
Black was your bed, of harsh tar and stone;
Black was your death, when the tyres crushed your bones;
Black was your fur, a feral silent sound;
Black was your blood, as it flowed on the ground.
Black was his shoe, as he pushed you aside,
Black too my heart, dismissing that night.
Perhaps you lost count of the times
between these arrows and those dotted lines
between one twothreefourfivesixseveneight nine-
I think your time's up, if you don't mind
Perhaps they will forget that you were slain-
And they will only recall that little
Stain
Dessert
Burst of liquid, thick dripping miasma
Slick with little nuggets of gold
Witness the apex, the pinnacle, the birth
White with milk, this pure blank slate
then plunge
down, down, down
through this powdered frost drunken
with fiery passion, pirouettes of pink
with lucid warmth, olden orange
with seething envy, grating green
unsearching melancholy, bubbling brown
damning anger, burning black
and find
silent cubes, absence of color
a dead man's chest of sins and hates
little soft seeds maroon
and clear white ones, progenitous
all mixing
this flashing metaphorical
amalgam flavorful and sharp
cuts clear, with unbearing cold
melting, melting to this
browned primordial soup
artificial
and it comes clear all at the end
life like a rainbow colored bowl
of ice kachang, no less
is thus so cold and contrived
but sweet
Index
What's in a name
that it should be forgot
all fives, all the same
little balls in a roulette slot
always a gambling, a toss up
failure falling dead against the din
take your place, begin the sup
set, plan, raise match all in
Null
Anticipation and Desperation!
embolden this self-same regret,
and these unspoken words a collation,
of post-its that remind us to... forget?
screaming their own silent deathwish,
they lie scattered, scared, scampered;
casting our torn nets we drag up these fish--
only to return them, forlorn-riddled
so we tread the ice of memory
and it seems to hold, unfamiliar
or breaks at us with Tongues of Faerie,
of the past this immutable reminder.
those fish we would savor,
in that sea we would Drown--
but their sweet empty flavor
is but a melodic lulling sound..
falling away to nothing

I would, in keeping with the spirit of this blog, place some poetry to accompany this picture, but I've not written for too long, as the previous post date will tell you, and Slayer is rather bad for nature poetry (or any kind of poetry for that matter) so this will have to do for now.
In other notes, taking about 1100+ photos with Mel's SLR has impressed upon me the need for my own DSLR. Very much so. And Dover is a nice place to photog around.
